Rachel While didn’t allow a single run as Garfield Heights Bulldog Varsity defeated Shaw 20-0 on Friday. While allowed just one hit and induced a groundout from #11 to end the game.

Sierra Dalton led Garfield Heights Bulldog Varsity to victory by driving in six runs. She went 2-for-4 at the plate. Dalton drove in runs on a home run in the second, a triple in the fourth, and a walk in the fifth.

Garfield Heights Bulldog Varsity captured the lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Garfield Heights Bulldog Varsity.

Garfield Heights Bulldog Varsity scored six runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to a home run , a single by Tinisha Middleton, and a walk by Rachel While.

While earned the win for Garfield Heights Bulldog Varsity. She pitched five innings, surrendering zero runs, one hit, striking out eight, and walking one.

Home runs for Garfield Heights Bulldog Varsity came when Dalton homered in the second inning and Mena Pobega homered in the third inning.

Garfield Heights Bulldog Varsity collected 14 hits. Pobega, While, Dalton, and Sam Williams each collected multiple hits for Garfield Heights Bulldog Varsity.

Late Score Costs Garfield Heights Bulldogs JV Against Shaker Heights
Garfield Heights Bulldogs JV stayed in it until the end, but Shaker Heights pulled away late in an 18-12 victory on Thursday. Garfield Heights Bulldogs JV trailed 13-11 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Nakayla Pickett singled off of #22, driving in one run.

Mena Pobega drove in four runners in the loss. Pobega drove in runs on a single in the first and a double in the first.

In the bottom of the first inning, Garfield Heights Bulldogs JV tied things up at one. With zero outs in the first inning Pobega drove in one run when she singled.

Garfield Heights Bulldogs JV collected eight hits. Pobega and Abigail Kolenich each collected multiple hits for Garfield Heights Bulldogs JV. Pobega went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Garfield Heights Bulldogs JV in hits. Garfield Heights Bulldogs JV tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Nakayla Pickett led the way with four.

Game Recap

The Varsity Baseball team lost a tough game to Bedford, 6-3. The Bulldogs had a 3-0 lead in the 5th inning but were doomed by errors in the 5th on the way to the defeat.. Richard Lenzo Cash went the distance for the Bulldogs allowing only 3 earned runs. Marlon Jordan drove in 2 runs and Tysean Pererson collected 2 hits in the effort. The Bulldogs will host Shaw on Thursday.

Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team Defeats New Castle For Historic Win – First Win As a Varsity Sport at BHS

The Boardman boys varsity lacrosse team won their first game of the season last night by defeating New Castle 15-4.  The win was a historic one because it’s the first year that lacrosse is recognized as a varsity sport.  Scoring goals for the Spartans were Nic Quimet with 4, Devin Whitaker with 3, Dom Barber, Mitch Brunko, and Colin Frost with 2, and John Beck and Alex Wood each scored one goal.
